Love Served In Scoops

HOSTED By Sinenhlanhla Ndlela, Founder of YOCOCO

“You are so loved, you are so loved!”

These were the first words I said to my son after a laborious birth for both of us. I’ve heard mothers say they never experienced love like the love for their child before and I didn’t really connect to that at the time. When I finally felt that love, it hit me just how deep maternal love can be.

This brings me to the birth of Yococo - the channel I use to serve love.

My mother had me when she was a teenager. Between being in school and setting her life up, we were often apart so whenever she came back home she would bring me ice cream. Ice cream became a symbol of my mother’s love for me and in birthing my ice cream brand, Yococo later on in my life, I too, wanted to gift everyone love in scoops!

The journey to serving scoops of love came through a quarter-life crisis of me asking myself “WTF?! Does everybody feel this way? Where’s the manager of this life thing? Where are the ACTUAL adults?” This questioning led me on a journey seeking alternative healing until I found a kinesiologist who helped me ask the critical question that would change my life forever:

“Why are we here?”

From that one question, I found purpose and from purpose I ultimately found love. What I am now aware of is we are love - we are here to receive it, we are here to serve it and we are here to be it. I also know our hearts are often filled with so much pain we convince ourselves otherwise, but at our best, we truly are love.

May our journeys take us deeper into the folds of the love we truly are. And may we always allow love in - be it in a song, a conversation with a stranger, or maybe even from a scoop of ice cream!

Hosting Tip

Arrange a communal dining setup where guests share a table, encouraging interaction and bonding.

”Whether it’s a long table or a gathering around a central food display, this fosters a sense of togetherness.

People naturally connect over food, and having everyone share from the same dishes promotes conversation, laughter, and a feeling of unity.

It’s a simple yet powerful way to ensure that the shared experience of a meal brings people together in a meaningful and enjoyable way.”

Cheers,

Sine
